I like the idea of mixing the golds, but not for me. You end out coming up with a pretty unique ring that is very you. You also have the option of rose gold. I love rose gold.
The ring you have picked out there is beautiful!
I don’t mind mixing golds. Some people do though. It’s a matter of personal preference. I like the ring you picked out.
I don’t like mixing golds, but if you like it go for it. Personally I prefer a jeweler (a real one, not one at the mall) as well. The people at the WalMart jewelry counter are nearly always just sales people, not people who truely know about jewelry.
the ring you picked is pretty. But I like rings that are more unique..something that wouldn’t be seen on everyone’s finger. This ring looks pretty common. Plus, if you look at a bunch of walmart rings customer ratings…you’ll see that a lot of people complain that the diamonds fall out. If you get a walmart ring..make sure you buy the warranty..so if a diamond falls out, you can get it fixed for free or low cost.
My original band was titanium, and my engagement ring was yellow gold. Sometimes I wore them together, and sometimes I wore my engagement ring on my right hand. Just depended on my mood.
I fell in love with my engagement ring, and I fell in love with my wedding band, and I wasn’t willing to change either just to make them match. (I only switched out my band later because I had to. It looked great, but was thick and rubbed blisters. :-/ )
I know of others who’ve mixed metals or worn their engagement rings as right-hand rings as well. It really all depends on what you want.
EDIT: The reviews for that ring were all great – no one said the diamond fell out. And solitaires are classic. If you love it, go for it! Also – rings from Zales, Kays, etc. are mass produced and of no higher quality than those from Walmart. Walmart rings are fine.
I love, love, love this look! In fact, my wedding colors were tricolor (gold, platinum and sort of blush gold, which was like a pale pinkish bronze) and I originally wanted an engagement ring in tricolor. The few settings I found were weird, though, so I ended up with kind of antique engagement ring of platinum and gold.
The tricky part is getting the band to match the ring and in your case hopefully they have the matching wedding band in white gold. But I love that look.
