Is it just me or does it not make sense for your wedding dress to cost more than your wedding ring?!?

I am watching Platinum weddings and the brides wedding gown is $50,000 and her 3 carat wedding ring was $40,000. Not to mention she is wearing 5 more dresses throughout the weekend of her wedding all adding up to be around $5,000 to $6,000 per dress. She’s not even in her wedding gown for the reception. Is it just me or is that a waste?
Don’t get me wrong, it is nice for those people who have money but alot of it was just excessive. I have been to quite a few weddings, never a bride, but they were all fully catered with wedding planners and even entrees’ that you could RSVP for and the wedding wasn’t like this one. I know entertainment is entertainment, but the alleged budget so far has surpassed $600,000 for the wedding/bridal shower/reception.

I’m just sayin’!

Should wedding rings be more expensive than wedding rings?

I am a bored child (13 year old) so I Google’d build an engagement ring and the ring I made had a diamond 41,867 and the setting cost 2,949 for a total of 44,816 dollars… So my question is should a wedding ring be more expensive than an engagement ring!!!

Can you help me find a hinged ring shank in metals other than gold or platinum?

A friend of mine’s husband to be has a badly mangled wedding finger and I’m trying to help her find wedding rings that will fit him (the base of his finger is fine but the knuckle is very large due to damage). The only problem is is that she’d like to get him a ring in either stainless, titanium, or tungsten and I’ve never seen hinged rings in any of those. Please help us find a hinged ring that will suit as a wedding band…Thanks!

After a few years the 14K gold prongs that hold the stone on my sister’s wedding ring shift a little. She has it repronged by the jeweler, but I wondered if platinum setting would be stronger and more resistant to bending.

Are gold and white gold wedding rings haram for men? and if so, than is platinum haram?

how can i tell if my ring is actually white gold rather than silver? or is it platinium? it’s an antique.?

i bought it in Austria and it’s got a diamond in it (it’s my engagement ring…) i had assumed that it was white gold becasue that’s what they said in the shop but i’ve been wearing it with my ‘new’ white gold wedding ring for a 18months and the wedding ring is going a bit yellowy whereas the engagemement ring is still bright silver-coloured…. could this mean that it’s actually silver? or is it just better quality white gold that my wedding ring? please help – i don’t want to send it away to get valued in case they lose it!
