I prefer silver or white gold jewelry. However, I have a yellow gold and ruby ring that was my grandmother’s that I wear in remembrance of her. It’s just a little piece of her that I like to keep close. I feel like if I wear any other rings on that hand, they should be gold but I don’t really like gold. What are my options? My wedding set is silver and I wear on my left hand (obviously lol) and I wear my grandmother’s ring on my middle finger on my right hand. Everything else (necklaces, bracelets, ect) is silver or white gold… is it ok? Or does it look tacky?

Is sterling silver good?
June 10th, 2011My husband and I bought a set of really nice and really expensive wedding rings (on credit :/) and due to both of us loosing our jobs, we had to make a very tough decision and return the rings. I am not a materialistic person but when it comes to not having a wedding ring I get very emotional. I received a brochure from KAY Jewelers today and they are having awesome deals on rings. I was looking at a ring that is 3/8 carats sterling silver for $199, there is also a 1/10 carat white gold for the same price but smaller in size. The sterling silver ring is a fashion ring that can pass for a wedding ring and the white gold ring is a promise ring. Neither of them are officially wedding rings. I just really want to get one…
Should I wait until we are able to purchase something better or get one of these? If so, which would be the smartest?

Three ring set of non-tarnishing platinum rhodium silver bands, and finger is now turning green. Why?
April 18th, 2011Shortly before our july 7, 2007 wedding in the great lake, IL I purchased a beautful set of rings that are known for not tarnishing as fast, and easy to keep shiny and clean. Now, after wearing them for only about a week, they are turning my finger green and im not sure if im not cleaning them enough, or what is wrong. I have never had trouble with this metal type before.
the certificate that came with the rings just says “Platinum Silver Wedding Ring Set,” and then in the item description says “1 ct cz eternity rings all mounted in non tarnishing platinum rhodium silver bands that look just like 14K gold, to make this our greatest creation to date. These Rings are NOT CHEAP IMITATIONS !” Hmmm, maybe the final words are in fact the answer, that sucks!
The seller of the rings wrote this to me: as often as nesessary depending on you body chemistry usually once a day works. Less than one percent of buyers experience this condition. Use a quality liquid jewelry cleaner. We use Wal Mart brand in the burgandy bottle.” Ok now im confused, lol.
