We are almost finished with the divorce. I was willing to give her everything to be done with it. She had her attorney tell me that the rings were the only things she didn’t want. She did it on purpose because she knows how important the rings were to me. Now I don’t know if I should sell them now and if I should where. The engagement ring in platinum and has a 1 carat diamond. The wedding band is platinum. The price of platinum is going up after it took a big dive the last six months. So I don’t know if its better to move on and get rid of them or to wait a more so the price gets higher and I can get more for them. The place I bought them has a policy of returning rings. They said I can exchange them for something else as long as the new items are double of what I spent. The rings cost me a little over six thousand almost six years ago. Would it be tacky or bad karma to keep them until I either need to buy more jewelry or need the money?
It was a bad break-up. She cheated on me and took the car, furniture, and money in our accounts. That is the reason I am thinking of selling them now so can have nothing to remember her by.
I wouldn’t dare give the same ring to another woman. I chose that ring for my ex. I took time to find something I think she would love. If I am lucky to find love again I plan to do the same for her. I would use the credit to buy her a nicer ring. Basically I would get a 12k ring for 6k.
