November 18th, 2011I got a bridal set about a year ago. They are over 1 carat and were originally about $4,000, but my boyfriend and I got them on sale for under $2,000. I want the engagement ring, but the wedding band does not fit my finger and I don’t really want to get it fixed. I will get a new wedding ring later. We thought about selling it, but where should I sell it at to get more money. It is white gold with twelve diamonds on it. We could use the extra money, but I am nervous about who will give me a good deal and who will not.
Also I have a lifetime protection plan, if I sell one of my rings, will my plan keep going? I got my rings at Zales, if that helps.
Why would it be a fraud if I sell one of my rings. They are mine and paid for. I just want the protection plan for my engagment ring.

We’re both divorcees. I kept my wedding set from my ex-husband (which holds zero sentimental value).
My boyfriend has a valuable ring that his ex-wife gave him back.
We are planning on selling our old jewelry very soon at a local jewelry boutique.
He’s been looking at engagement rings for me lately.
He constantly asks if I prefer yellow gold or white gold.
Is it bad luck if I give him the money from my old wedding set to apply on an engagement ring?
My mom thinks I should use the diamonds to make a right hand ring or necklace. Truth is, I don’t want bad energy/juju from my old wedding set on my body anymore.

August 29th, 2011I have a matching engagement ring and wedding band set from the Shane company. Both rings are 18K white gold. The engagement ring is a round diamond solitaire with smaller diamonds set into the band. (I can’t remember what that setting is called.) The wedding band also has the small diamonds set into the band. The total weight for all the diamonds is under 1 ct. Might be close to 2/3. I can’t remember. I do have the paperwork/ appraisal that goes with them. The appraisal says they are worth about $1,600.
I have heard that at a jewelery store that buys jewelery you are lucky to get 50 cents on the dollar, and a pawn shop will give you less than that. I am afraid of using craigslist because I don’t want to get robbed. I have never sold anything on ebay before. I looked around on ebay a little and it seems like they have rings with bigger diamonds than mine for around $500 so that’s kind of discouraging. What would you do if you were me?

August 20th, 2011I have a small wedding band made of half white gold and half gold gold(these are 14k). I also have a bigger 1970′s pimp ring which looks like gaudy swiss cheese(which is also 14k). I know you can’t give me an exact figure, but I’d like to have a basic idea before i sell it so i don’t get ripped off. If it isn’t worth anything, let me know. Thanks so much!

The Ring is less than a half karat and is 14K White Gold Solitaire does anybody have any ideas?

They are beautiful, but not a set, we bought them separately. I wondered if I would get more if I sold them separately or together, and where the best place to sell them might be. Unfortunately the marriage has ended and the financial picture is grim.
