I’ve always wanted just one simple garnet set in silver or white gold rather than a fancy multiple diamond one set in yellow gold like everyone else has. Would what I want be tacky or look cheap?

Also, is it okay to use the same ring for both the engagement and the wedding? I just don’t see the point of buying an expensive ring I would wear maybe a year before I got married and put on a different expensive new ring, but I would like a ring with a stone. And how would that work for the wedding if I was to do it?

Not that I’m getting married anytime soon- these are just the random thoughts of a girl, lol.

The ring is 14K white gold. about .8 carrot of diamonds on it. The fluctuation is off the gold. Just want to know if the increase is justified by price of gold.
