He got my engagement ring at the Shane co. He picked it out. I had no idea he was even looking. He got white gold. Now he is saying he wants yellow gold. But I think our bands should match. Both be white gold to match my engagement ring he bought me. What do I do?
I just think that they should be the same color. White gold is what he picked out for me. I think it look funny to see a husband and a wife with different color bands on.

Has anyone purchased wedding rings in the jewelry district in Los Angeles? If so, good/bad experience?
September 9th, 2011My fiance and I are currently looking for matching wedding bands and saw some that we both REALLY liked in the jewelry district (St. Vincent’s jewelry store) in downtown Los Angeles.
We were concerned about the quality of the rings they have. At some of the counters in the store, the rings looked to be less than perfect. I saw one wedding band that was white gold with a yellow gold braid across the top of it and it looked as if the yellow gold had flaws in it. Also, other rings seemed to look somewhat “dingy”. My fiance (who knows a lot more about jewelry than I do) said he was concerned about the gold content and being potentially ripped off by one of these places.
Has anyone purchased from this store or others in downtown Los Angeles?
We have looked at a lot of rings and are most likely planning on going to a reputable jeweler (Ben Bridge). Still I would like to know!
Clear nail polish on the backs of my wedding rings?
September 6th, 2011both pieces in my wedding set are white gold and have diamonds and sapphires, so they have breathing holes in the back. Recently, and quite suddenly, the rings started breaking my finger out. Rash, bleeding, painful etc.
I read on here that it’s probably an allergy to the nickel in the white gold compound and that you could put clear nail polish on the backs of the rings.
Would the polish bother my stones since they have the holes?
If so, what else can I do, it’s been a month and a half since I have worn my rings and I can’t stand it much longer.
Help me please!

September 2nd, 2011Im a little confused, ok so im talking “traditionally” here, i know the “husband to be” buys the engagement ring without the “wife to be” knowing. But then when the “wife to be” receives the engagement ring does she buy her man one to? Or do men not get engagement rings? And then the wedding rings, do you go together to buy them, are they matching? Or do you go separately and buy them as a surprise for each other. And is the woman’s engagement ring supposed to match her wedding ring, and traditionally what do they both look like and are they gold or white gold?

August 31st, 2011My engagement and wedding ring have been making my finger itch lately and hurt. When I take the rings off, I have a red line that looks almost like a burn on my finger (only where the rings were) and the skin has even peeled. These rings came from a legitimate jeweler with a good reputation and I was given a certificate certifying the diamonds/gold etc. I don’t know if it has anything to do with these rings being white gold rather than yellow gold. I have a yellow gold ring that I do not have this problem with. It’s only been happening for maybe the last month and I’ve had them almost a year. What do you think the problem is – and is there anything I can do so I can wear my rings without them hurting me?

Tungsten Carbide Wedding Rings?
August 18th, 2011Does anyone have a Tungsten Carbide wedding ring? I’ve heard that they are very scratch-resistant.
My wife wants to get me a new wedding ring for our anniversary and I am considering a Tungsten Carbide ring.
My original wedding ring from 6 years ago is white gold and is extremely scratched up. I’ve had it polished a few times by a jeweler and it looks great after being polished, but within a month or so it is scratched up again.
I work a desk job, so it’s not like I am being rough on my ring.
For anyone that has a Tungsten Carbide ring, can you comment on how well your ring has held up? Is your ring scratch-free? Do you like it? Would you recommend one?
Question about my grandmothers wedding rings.?

On her engagement ring Is a beautiful 1 karat white diamond and inside the white gold band is inscribed mona lisa. I know that many designers inscribe something, but i was wondering if it was a famous ring designer. We believe my grandfather was in the mafia and i think it would be interesting to know more about her bands. They are sooo gorgeous.
