My boyfriend and I are talking about the idea of getting married. On our two year anniversary he gave me a promise ring that looks as though it could be used as a wedding band. My first question is if that is tacky or not o.k or bad luck or anything.
Also my grandmother has a beautiful cubic ziconia (sp?) ring which I really love. It is in yellow gold and he would have it re- set and put into white gold before proposal. Is this tacky? Or bad luck because it is a ake diamond? It does have two small real diamonds on the sides.

On her engagement ring Is a beautiful 1 karat white diamond and inside the white gold band is inscribed mona lisa. I know that many designers inscribe something, but i was wondering if it was a famous ring designer. We believe my grandfather was in the mafia and i think it would be interesting to know more about her bands. They are sooo gorgeous.

Like will the metals be ok next to each other, or will one tarnish the other? I’m just trying to see what my options are, and I know nothing about jewelery.

Tacori ring warranty question?
July 25th, 2011My fiance proposed to me with a beautiful 18K White Gold Tacori Ring last year! (1.02 Carat Brilliant Cut Color G Diamond–gorgeous)–I was very surprised–I have always loved Tacori…anyway, here is my question/situation:
We are getting married 9-12-09 and unfortunately (but somewhat expected)–the ring has yellowed–especially the bottom and the prongs. We want to re-rhodium plate the ring before the wedding, so that it is shiny white as opposed to this yellow.
The Tacori Authorized Retailer Jeweler in NJ (our family has known them for YEARS) told my Fiance that the rhodium plating was free from Tacori (he also told him shipping was free to/from Tacori) but now, as it turns out, we have been told that shipping is not free (they said around 120-150.00 total for the shipping!) to Tacori and it takes around 6 weeks for the ring to be re-dipped and sent back! (needless to say, we need to hurry!)
We have contacted Tacori (no response yet via email) and asked the same question. Just curious as to if any of you (perhaps those who work for Tacori Authorized Dealers) know what our options are…
- Can we take the ring to be re-rhodium plated at an authorized dealer and will it cost us?
- If we take it to a tacori authorized dealer, have them rhodium plate the ring, will it then void our warranty with Tacori?
-How would Tacori even know if we took it to a local jeweler down where we live, and had it rhodium plated?
Any suggestions are helpful to me. I’m so frustrated, as is my Fiance–he’s getting the run-around everywhere! (We are in the DC region if that helps anyone!)

Question about wedding band – What if the engagement ring is a band?

I am engaged to my fiance, another female. We had discussed rings before and she made it clear she wanted a platinum band with diamonds all the way around. That’s what I got, and she loved it. I have since gotten a beautiful one karat princess cut/platinum band.
Now we are looking at bands and I want a platinum band with diamonds, but she feels like that would make hers look “less special.”
What can we get for her that would enhance her already beautiful ring? She doesn’t want just a plain band? What’s left, when she is already wearing a band?

My fiance is not at all about the look of her ring. She isn’t like that. But truth be told it’s a once in a lifetime thing and yes, I do want her to have a beautiful, sparkling set like mine. I don’t think that’s abnormal or shallow.
Help!!! Wedding ring question!?
June 9th, 2011I have a marquise cut diamond ring with three layers of diamonds and a layer of gold accents. It is white gold except for the gold accents. Its a very very pretty ring but I am wondering what the stamp on the inside means. It says 14K LSC 2 7. I know that 14k is the gold karats, and 7 is the size. From research I’ve done I’m pretty positive that LSC means its a leo, but I can’t figure out what the 2 means. If anyone knows or can point me in the right direction I’d really appreciate it!!!
The 7 is definitely the size…it says LSC2 and there is a definite space then is says 7. I have found where other rings have said LSC1 and LSC3. I don’t actually know where the ring was originally bought at. Could any jeweler tell me?

question about engagement ring?
March 7th, 2011this applies to folks in the UK. Since getting married my engagement ring is not too tight. I think its where it has moved forward to accomodate the wedding ring, its now round the bigger part of my finger and its just too tight. How much does it cost at UK jewellers for resizing? Which is the cheapest place to go? Cant go back to original place I got engagement ring expecting them to do it free as it was four years ago.
If resizing is too expensive or not possible (its white gold ring) how can I get it to fit my finger better (not lose weight as weigh the same since first having it). Was hoping my finger would just fit into it and stretch anyways to encourage this like vaseline or something? Thanks

February 10th, 2011If the engagement ring is supposed to be the beautiful one, what happens to it after you receive your wedding band? You just put it away because you have to wear the band? *Confusion* I would think a person would want to wear the most beautiful ring for the rest of their life… Not just a “band.”
