Clear nail polish on the backs of my wedding rings?

September 6th, 2011

both pieces in my wedding set are white gold and have diamonds and sapphires, so they have breathing holes in the back. Recently, and quite suddenly, the rings started breaking my finger out. Rash, bleeding, painful etc.
I read on here that it’s probably an allergy to the nickel in the white gold compound and that you could put clear nail polish on the backs of the rings.
Would the polish bother my stones since they have the holes?
If so, what else can I do, it’s been a month and a half since I have worn my rings and I can’t stand it much longer.
Help me please!
