April 20th, 2011When I got engaged I was tiny, 97 pounds and so my rings are a size 3.25 and in the three years since I got married I have put on a little weight. My ring barley fits now. I want it sized up maybe just a quarter of a size. Oh and its Platinum engagement ring and wedding band. Can anyone tell me how much this would cost?

April 8th, 2011My grandma gave me her mother’s wedding ring as a present. I plan to wear it when I get married. It’s a plain gold band with an accent line in the middle of the band and little lines going up the sides. It’s very pretty, but I would like to add some silver or platinum accents to it. Do you think it’s a good idea, or should I leave the ring as is? from a tradition standpoint, are you supposed to leave jewelry as is once you inherit it or would it be OK to modify it?

(The same exact ring as in this photo except with 7 slightly smaller stones rather than 5 larger ones. Ring is half eternity style with total 1.5ct weight with curved and set in profile and edges. Height is ~2 mm).
Instead of wearing a typical solitaire engagement ring, I would like to get another band with stones that would stack nicely and make the stones of this wedding ring “pop.”
I tend to like sapphire and pink sapphire and platinum settings but will consider other styles. Please post pics if you can. Thanks!

March 25th, 2011Ok-my fiance proposed to me with his grandmothers engagement ring. It is a beautiful platinum ring, with a 1 carat round stone in the middle, and 3 small stones inlaid on each side of the ring. I love my ring so much, and didn’t even need it sized! My problem is, we are getting married May 31, and I don’t know what to do about a wedding band. I am thinking just a plain band, but a plain platinum band is pretty expensive (at least $400) and just won’t work in our budget right now. I know there is a difference in color between white gold/platinum, but the white gold plain band is about all we can afford. Do I have to have a wedding band? Can he put the engagement ring on me during the ceremony? I am soo confused about what to do! Please help with suggestions!
Lunchbox—I am already on a tight budget, there are no extras in my house! I don’t get mani’s or pedi’s & my coffee comes from Folgers! I know its not a big deal, but these little details stress me out! I was hoping he could just put my engagement ring on me during the ceremony…either way we’re married, so it doesn’t matter, but you know?
Lydia-the reason “we” don’t have the $$ for a bridal ring is because we are on a tight budget…we are paying for our own wedding (which is very small & simple & intimate) and everything else, so a lot of our $$ is going to the honeymoon…I don’t care if I have a ring or not, because I love him & that is what matters. I am not complaining about anything, just looking for suggestions.
Do I need a wedding ring?
March 4th, 2011I have a nontraditional engagement ring. It is a white gold band, molded into leaves and swirls with diamonds inlaid in it. The thing is, you could make a custom ring to go with it, but I think that would look funny. Because it would either make it very wide, and I have small fingers, or I could get a set stone or something, but that would look more like a traditional engagement ring which I’ve never liked anyway.
My fiance spent a lot of time and effort finding the perfect ring for me because I don’t normally like wearing jewelry (and he’s not normally a sentimental guy) so the meaning behind this ring is very special.
I REALLY love my engagement ring, and I’m NOT a materialistic person in the least. So, do I really need to get a new ring, or can my husband-to-be just give me the same one with new vows and commitments on our wedding day?
