has anyone change their wedding date once or more times? how do you handle it?

May 23rd, 2011

ok my fiance and I were talking about getting married since last Dec, so this year we got engaged in Jan (not ring) and He even said lets do it in March..so as I was trying to plan we realized that..march was too soon and I didnt have enought time order a dress or book anything and most places asked doposits so we ralized we couldnt do it..at this point i was under the impression that we could afford a wedding..he made go to halls and hotels…and caterers and all that..I almost booked a photographer..but i guess he didnt realized how much this was going to cost..and then he tells me that march was too soon that august is better..so i was ok with that..but now he tells me that we cant afford it (even though we cut guest and cust in half) because he just spent over 10k on my E.ring and wedding band…but Hes the one that wanted me to get platinum and lots of little diamonds..but he says its ok cos it’ll last forever..and a wedding or a dress wont…?
anyway today he told me we should get married next year so we’ll ahve more money and time to plan and i dont have to rush order my dress..and all that..and I think it makes sense and I understand that..but i had to change dates so many times and venues and plans and colours that i dont if i want a wedding anymore..I think im getting very impatient but i have to say we have been dating for 7.5 years and he just brought up marriage last year (after i gavehim 1000s of hints)..so iv been waiting long time for this..and i already told my whole family…they are even making travelling plans to be here in august..(we live in Canada)…
so am i being a child and unreasonable for wanting a wedding this year? may2010 seems so fat away.. i dont really want to wait any more..I have been with this man since i was 20 years old…i know hes commited but how do I accept this..am i wrong for being upset? I just need someone to tell me to stay calm because im going to loose it and i dont want to argue with him..

thanks..
ok, I dont think i put this earlier but we are going 50/50 and we are just inviting 45 ppl max..I accept things but he keeps bring up dates and then later hes like nop we cant..let move it..thats was upseting..thanks for waking me up!

Is it just me or does it not make sense for your wedding dress to cost more than your wedding ring?!?

March 2nd, 2011

I am watching Platinum weddings and the brides wedding gown is $50,000 and her 3 carat wedding ring was $40,000. Not to mention she is wearing 5 more dresses throughout the weekend of her wedding all adding up to be around $5,000 to $6,000 per dress. She’s not even in her wedding gown for the reception. Is it just me or is that a waste?
Don’t get me wrong, it is nice for those people who have money but alot of it was just excessive. I have been to quite a few weddings, never a bride, but they were all fully catered with wedding planners and even entrees’ that you could RSVP for and the wedding wasn’t like this one. I know entertainment is entertainment, but the alleged budget so far has surpassed $600,000 for the wedding/bridal shower/reception.

I’m just sayin’!

More ways to hold wedding rings to photograph them please.?

January 27th, 2011

I have two ways that I use but now am in need of true “can not see it” ways for the next shoot Yes, I use wax and a hold down clip system already. So looking for more ideas. They will be on glass or glossy paper most of the time if that is of any help.

Should wedding rings be more expensive than wedding rings?

December 19th, 2010

I am a bored child (13 year old) so I Google’d build an engagement ring and the ring I made had a diamond 41,867 and the setting cost 2,949 for a total of 44,816 dollars… So my question is should a wedding ring be more expensive than an engagement ring!!!

013 Mens Engagement Rings – Becoming more popular

November 24th, 2010

Not so long ago, mens engagement rings were nonexistent. Traditionally, it was the bride-to-be who got the engagement ring, while men simply wore wedding rings once married. It was also true that the man proposed to the woman, rather than the other way around. Regardless, though, the recipient of the engagement ring wears it to signify that he or she is already “taken,” even if not yet legally married, and “engagement rings for men” have become increasingly popular in Europe; slowly, this trend is making its way to the United States, too. Equality of the sexes and gay marriage are changing things.

The wedding rings are something more than following the ritual

December 8th, 2009

Wedding is one of the most joyful events in one’s life. The union of the two souls during the wedding brings in a beginning of a new chapter in one’s life. And thus this special event of one’s life is celebrated with various customs. Some of the customs are confined to certain communities only and some of these are has a world wide acceptance. These customs are followed throughout most of the communities and countries of the world. One of such widely followed custom is the exchange of the wedding rings between the bride and the groom during their marriage. As because of its world wide acceptance and as this custom is followed throughout the world and so many cultures and communities follows this tradition that there is sure to be some changes for different communities. But though there are diversities the basic concept of the exchange of the rings still remains the same. This is such a custom that has come across ages and still the popularity has not been dimmed even by an inch.

The exchange ceremony plays a very vital role in one’s marriage and the ring worn by the bride or the groom symbolic representation of marriage itself. It is a symbol that indicates one’s commitment and loyalty to his or her spouse. The wedding rings are made of different elements. Most commonly precious metals like gold, silver, white gold or platinum are used as the base element for the ring. And according to the most common tradition the wedding ring is worn on the fourth finger of the left hand. There is a traditional belief that there is a vein that generates from the forth finger of the left hand and goes straight to the heart. But in actual reality and according to the medical science there is no existence of any such vein. However, still in most cases the custom is followed and the bride and the groom both wear the ring on the fourth finger of the left hand.

As for the metal of the ring gold is the most preferred choice. Most of the people are in favor of choosing gold as the material for the wedding ring. Not only does it looks great but also fits the tradition perfectly. The magnificent charm of the gold brings in a new glitter in the lovely relationship. But these days it is seen that in case of the wedding ring yellow gold is often replaced by white metals like platinum or white gold. No wonder that the platinum ring brings with itself a great charm and flavor to the wedding. Even white gold an alloy of gold and other white metals like nickel, silver or palladium is also quite in demand these days. If you want a costly white gold ring you can then go for the gold and palladium alloy or if your pocket cannot afford that much then you can choose other less costly metals like nickel or silver along with gold. Whatever may be the ring made of the main thing is that it is the symbol of your ever lasting love for your beloved therefore choose your wedding ring carefully for her.
