My husband recently bought me a new wedding ring. He basically upgraded my old one for a larger stone. It is a Tiffany style 18k 1 1/2 carat Princess cut solitaire w/platinum head, & it is beautiful…but the thing is…I was really wanting a Pear. I have hinted to him over the years that when he was ready to upgrade to a larger stone, I wanted a Pear shaped solitaire. I know woman have there own styles of what they prefer & I thought it was up to the woman to pick out which ring/stone she likes the best…I dont want to sound ungrateful, but is it wrong to be a little disappointed? He said when he gave it to me, “A Princess for a Princess”…i thought that was soo sweet. But I still woulda preferred a pear. Its my wedding ring, that I will wear til I die. Please help me understand my feelings about this…Im not an ungrateful person…this to me is just different, its my wedding ring….any help? He did tell me in 5 yrs or more he would upgrade to a 2 or 2 1/2 ct, should I wait til?
Before anyone says, “Why keep upgrading?”…when we got married 7 yrs ago, my husband said he wanted to buy me a 3 carat diamond…he couldnt afford it back than, so he said hes getting there & wont stop upgrading til he gets what he wanted originally for me…which I thought was sweet!!

January 9th, 2011I have had the same wedding rings for 9 years. Suddenly, about 5 weeks ago I notices an icky rash under my rings and it itched like crazy. I took my rings off, cleaned them and put cream on my finger. Left them off till it healed about 5 days then after wearing them just one day about 10 hours….broken out again. treated the rash and left the rings off again about 5 days didn’t wear them again until it was healed and after a couple of hours my finger was broken out again. Is it possible to suddenly be allergic to the white gold in the rings? Does anyone have any other suggestions? I wear another ring on my ring finger of my right hand and never have any trouble. Suggestions?
And if I am suddenly allergic to my rings do I just not get to wear any or is there something specific I should look for? Why would this just suddenly happen after 9 years?
I clean them about once a week and I remove them to shower/wash hands. I use a hydrocort cream and it clears it up well..until of course I put the rings back on. I am a hand sanitizer person-use it all of the time but have never “cleaned” my rings in it….
where do you keep the wedding ring while waiting for wedding day?
November 27th, 2010We picked out my engagement ring. It is actually a bridal set so you buy the engagement ring and matching wedding band, both, at once. We plan to have a long engagment and don’t know the proper place to store the actual wedding band until the wedding day.
We don’t want it to get lost or damaged, where should we store it?

I am getting married in 9 days. The best man is also serving as my stand-in “father of the bride.” We have just him and my matron of honor in our wedding party… no flower girl or ring bearer.
Does anyone have any creative ideas to help the best man carry (i.e. not lose in the depths of his pocket) our wedding rings? They are both plain white gold bands, and although it is easy to tell apart his and hers by the size… I always thinks it looks silly when the person is fumbling to find the right ring at the right time. He is trustworthy, but he is an older gentleman. We have both known him for many, many years and consider him one of our very best friends.
I just wanted to make it easier on him and was hoping for something unique, but not cutesy. It’s not like I’m going to make him drag a ring pillow up the aisle
