Has anyone purchased wedding rings in the jewelry district in Los Angeles? If so, good/bad experience?

My fiance and I are currently looking for matching wedding bands and saw some that we both REALLY liked in the jewelry district (St. Vincent’s jewelry store) in downtown Los Angeles.

We were concerned about the quality of the rings they have. At some of the counters in the store, the rings looked to be less than perfect. I saw one wedding band that was white gold with a yellow gold braid across the top of it and it looked as if the yellow gold had flaws in it. Also, other rings seemed to look somewhat “dingy”. My fiance (who knows a lot more about jewelry than I do) said he was concerned about the gold content and being potentially ripped off by one of these places.

Has anyone purchased from this store or others in downtown Los Angeles?
We have looked at a lot of rings and are most likely planning on going to a reputable jeweler (Ben Bridge). Still I would like to know!

I have a wedding set of headpiece, necklace, and earrings by Crystal Collections. The metal for that set is silver, and my engagement ring is white gold…I want to weat my great grandmother’s ring on my wedding say as well, but it’s yellow gold. I didn’t get to know her well until I became her main caregiver at 16 due to the horrible care she was getting at the home for the elderly. We became quite close, and she broke her twelve year silence by telling me she loved me the first day I took care of her. We had many great times and conversations…I miss her quite a bit. She died a few years ago, and I would love to honor her in that way. Would it be okay despite the fact that my gown and bridal jewelry lean more toward silver or white gold?

I hate two-tone jewelry but I wear gold and whitegold……….?

my engagement ring will be a stunning white gold solitare but I wear yellow gold sometimes too what do you think about getting a yellow gold wedding band. I wouldn’t wear then together, just yellow gold with yellow gold and white gold with white gold.

I know “Whatever You Want” is a common answer but I am ust looking for sugesstions.

Does anyone wear only their engagement ring after their married?

We want to set a “princess cut” cubic zirconia in a platinum and diamond wedding band, which will eventually hold a one ct. diamond. Will a jeweler do this? My fiance and I are very practical and we do not want to invest in a diamond center stone until we have both been out of grad school another few years. I do not think either of the jewelers we are considering sell CZ; does anyone know where we can buy a loose one that approximates a one ct. diamond?
