You just put it away because you have to wear the band? *Confusion* I would think a person would want to wear the most beautiful ring for the rest of their life… Not just a “band.”

What is the difference in 10,12, and 14 karat gold?
December 9th, 2010I am looking at some white gold rings as our matching wedding bands, and They range from 60-400 dollars. They are 10,12, and 14 karat gold. I know that means 10k is less than 12k etc. but what is the actual difference besides cost and amount of gold? Will 10k flake off sooner than 14k or will it flake off at all? I would wear it every day.. So I am kinda new and confused.

November 2nd, 2010My engagement ring is white gold (a one carat princess cut diamond on plain white gold band) and my wedding ring (we just purchased it) is platinum with small princess cut diamonds all around it. The band is 1/2 carat in diamonds and looked really pretty with my enagement ring, however, the wedding band was not available in white gold so we had to get it in platinum. When I tried them on together, I saw virtually no difference in color, maybe because the diamonds on the band are the focus, but over time, what do I have to do to make sure the colors don’t change? I dont want it to be noticeable.
