Which wedding band would you choose and why?

Hi,
Our wedding is in a month (exactly, dec 6th wooo), anyway, my fiance can’t decide which wedding band he likes better and neither can I. We’ve narrowed it down to these 2 choices.
Please briefly explain which one you like better and why. It would be greatly appreciated.
ps. no comments about how the rings are cheap LOL…

Basically we feel ring no. 1 is classic, the look will stand the test of time, but is perhaps a tad plain. We like the little pattern on ring no.2, but are unsure of how it will look in say 30 years… plus my fiance slightly prefers white gold, so ring no. 1 has a bit more white gold on it, … but he still can’t decide lol

Thanks for the feedback everyone, several of you made some very valid points… so I think we’re going to go with ring no. 1 but we’ll decide for sure a little later tonight lol.

AD Ford while your comment didn’t answer my question, but we’re all entitled to our opinions… Seeing as this ebay seller has been in business on ebay for over 10 years and has 99.6% positive feedback with over 11000 transactions, we’re wiling to take a chance on this ring.. and I guess worse case if it fails we’re only out 200$ and we’ll buy a new ring… I am not someone who feels the need to absolutely buy a ring from a brick and mortar store. I did check a few stores though before going online. Lol come to think of it your answer sounds like something my mom would say, which is why I turned to yahoo answers for opinions and not to my family LOL..
Plus I thank everyone for telling it like it is… For example, maybe ring no.2 does look a little feminine, and I bet none of my friends or family would have told me that, so I’m glad to have heard it though.

Would you choose a non-diamond engagement ring?

I’m just curious again lol.

If you could choose your engagement ring, would you pick a stone other than a diamond? What would you choose?

Or if you did pick your engagement ring, what did you pick?

If I was picking, I’d choose a blue topaz stone in a white gold setting and just have the wedding ring be a simple white gold band.
Topaz measures at 8 on the Mohs scale. That’s close enough for me since I don’t do much dirty work (like gardening) and I have to wear gloves at work.

@Two: it was hard to choose between your answer and the one I chose, but Charmed Events’ answer hits just the right mark.

Blue topaz does mean more to me than diamond does.
1) I’ve already got plenty of diamonds. My family has a tradition that the groom has to get a bigger diamond than the ones the parents have given the bride throughout her life so I’ve got quite a few rings with diamonds or diamond accents. Plus, he’s already given me a diamond necklace that’s .20 points under a half carat and diamond earrings.
2) Blue topaz is the gemstone of the state of Texas and both of our families are from Texas.
3) The engagement ring doesn’t mean as much to me as the wedding band so I’m not really that worried about it getting scratched or anything.
4) We like to be different and a blue topaz ring is certainly different from the normal diamond engagement rings.
5) And last but not least, blue is a favorite color for us both.

Can you help me choose a man’s wedding band?

I’m about to get married but I’m having one little problem… The ring idea. My bride will have a platinum set, but I am allergic to most metals. I say most only because There may be something I’m not allergic to, but I don’t know what it may be… Anyway, I’m trying to find something that I can make a wedding band from that contains no metals, and (hopefully) will match my brides set… Any ideas?

How do you choose a good wedding ring?

My fiancee likes rings that are made out of white gold and have the channel setting with diamonds. It seems that most of those rings are actually in a somewhat lower price class as bigger diamonds don’t fit on there. She doesn’t really care about how much it costs, but wants it to be nice though.

But what are the important factors that I should look at and how should I choose? Is clarity or color more important for the diamonds? And what other factors should I look at?

The frustrating thing is that I heard of someone who bought a wedding ring for $1,600, but the ring is actually only valued at around $200. So it seems that you buy these rings way above their actual potential resell value.

What kind of metal did you choose for your wedding band?

I thought the hard ring-shopping work was over when I bought my fiancee’s engagement ring. WRONG. Now I have to get a ring for myself. I got platinum for her because I knew it was what she wanted, but now I don’t know what to get for myself. I definitely want a white metal, but after that I’m lost. I’m looking for something durable and classic, and price is not an issue. What kind of metal is the best for men’s wedding bands?
