I am one of those hopeless romantics who like to think about what my wedding, engagement ring, proposal, etc. will be like one day. So I’d like to see the kind of “range” of engagement rings people have!
My mother’s is a 1.5 carat diamond solitaire on a simple yellow gold band. Great clarity, nearly no flaws, don’t know too much more about it, gorgeous! No idea of the cost. Her wedding band is stunning, loads more diamonds, all surrounding the solitaire. She gets compliments on it all the time!
My dream ring would be a pear-cut diamond – 1 carat or larger, on a platinum band! =P Perfectly clear, relatively no flaws, perfect symmetry, great sparkle and brilliance!! (Hey, I can dream, can’t I?) =D

What kind of wedding band would go well with my engagement ring?

My fiance and I are having trouble finding a wedding band that looks right next to it. We have the benefit of knowing a jeweler that can make whatever we what for a decent price, so we would like something a little more dazzling than a simple white gold band. But we’ve been told that the pear-shaped stones make it very difficult to match with a wedding band right next to it.
It was also suggested that I wear my engagement band on my right hand and a completed different wedding band on the otherhand. I’m not against this idea, but I’d like to try to find something to wear on my left hand with my engagement ring.
Any suggestions?
How much for a custom wedding band?
October 2nd, 2011My fiance got me a gorgeous uniquely shaped diamond engagement ring. The shape of the ring is essentially a hexagon (6 sided). So basically in order for a potential wedding band to fit with this I would need a band with a “V” cutout. Is thing something I would HAVE to have made custom or are there ones available online? And if it must be done custom- how much would that run for 14 karat white gold.
my wedding band is causing a rash on my finger?
September 28th, 2011my engagement ring and wedding band are both white gold (i believe 14k) and for the past 2 months when I consistently wear them, [i say consistently because I have had to take them off due to the rash] I develop a rash that starts out burning and then turns to a severe itch with blisters. I’ve done some research and believe I have an allergic reaction to nickel (which it known to be found in gold jewelry) my questions are: 1) why is this just happening now? I’ve been wearing them for 5 years now and haven’t had a problem and 2) is there anything I can do to the ring that will make it wearable again? I HATE not wearing my rings!
FYI: I am 7 months pregnant and thought maybe the hormone change had something to do with it, but I asked my dr this morning and she said she has never heard anything like that…thats why im assuming its a nickel allergy.

It is a 3 carat diamond ring
Center stone is one carat
rounds in center ring total one carat
each band is half carat
diamonds are set in white gold
Ring was recently re-dipped, not worn since dipping, ring is from Helzberg diamonds, and warranty is uptodate along with 6 month inspections up to date as well.
Also, all three bands are saudered together and the ring is size 7 1/4.

September 19th, 2011Since my engagement ring is “plain” – 1 karat princess cut with thin white gold band, I’d like to get a band with small diamonds on it to accent my 1 karat. There are some for $300 and then some for $2,000 – which I refuse to spend! I’d like something on the cheaper side, but classy.

Engament ring and wedding band ??????’s?
September 14th, 2011So it’s around that time for me, my relationship is moving there and I’m excited. Shopping though for a perfect ring isint fun with a lot of the price tags out there. We both have good heads on our shoulders and know that having money and no bills is better entering a marriage etc. But at the same time I don’t wanna be cheap…… I’ve been looking on craigslist for some deals….. Would it be wrong to get it from there????? and I would only buy if proper paperwork and jeweler saw it. Advice and help would be appreciated.

What do you think of a wooden wedding band?
September 5th, 2011My fiance and I have been looking around for options for our wedding rings. One thing that has appeared is wooden rings and I like the look of them. He likes the idea of it because he worked installing hardwood floors for 5 years. I want to have his and mine match but I’m not sure how a wood ring would look with my engagement ring. I plan on wearing both when we’re married. The center stone is a peridot and the ring is made from white gold. Neither one of us is really interested in being traditional, we picked out the engagement ring together and it has a great deal of meaning. I would like our wedding bands to have as much meaning and be as non-traditional as my engagement ring. Does anyone know someone with a wooden wedding band? What do you think of them?
Wedding Band Question and Engagement ring?
September 1st, 2011My boyfriend and I are talking about the idea of getting married. On our two year anniversary he gave me a promise ring that looks as though it could be used as a wedding band. My first question is if that is tacky or not o.k or bad luck or anything.
Also my grandmother has a beautiful cubic ziconia (sp?) ring which I really love. It is in yellow gold and he would have it re- set and put into white gold before proposal. Is this tacky? Or bad luck because it is a ake diamond? It does have two small real diamonds on the sides.
