It’s a solid platinum band. Should I try eBay, a jewelry shop, or are there places you can just sell the metal? I don’t want to keep it or have it turned into something else.

If you sell it to a jewelry shop for “credit” on something else, you’d get the most for it.
You won’t get much on ebay because of the proof you’d have to have on what it is.
You can try to sell on Craig’s list.
