can I wear a white gold or platinum ring with a silver one?

My engagement ring is silver, with a stone. For a wedding ring, should I stick to silver, or could I get a white gold or platinum one? Would it look odd? Would they wear unevenly?

I think silver & silver would look the best but white gold would look great too :D its up to you & I doubt people will look that closely to tell if they are both silver or not so honestly, I wouldnt look odd. :]

White gold and platinum look close enough to silver that no one will notice.

The problem with different metals – even if they look the same – is that two different metals touching create an elecrical effect that causes them to corrode. Normally with jewelry it would not be a big deal, but wedding rings and engagement rings are touching each other quite a bit, for extended amounts of time.

Also, you should seriously reconsider the silver setting for your stone. Silver is a very soft metal, and over time there is a very good chance of losing the stone from the setting. That is why platinium settings are so much more common today.

You are going to have them forever and wear them every day, so maybe you should consider having your engagement ring reset, and get a matching wedding band.

Actually, there ‘s no big difference in color among the silver, white gold or platium ring; they all display a metalike white color, so it is ok that you can mix-wear them.

it does not matter as long as thei style could match!

nobody could figure it out which kind of metal they are as long as all of them are shining!
