Ar there any women out there who wear Tungsten Carbide wedding rings?

Or just plain tungsten or titanium—-basically any other metal besides the usual three suspects: yellow gold, platinum, and white gold. If so, what did you choose and why? Is there an unspoken no against wedding bands for women in any but the above three metals? For those who have Tungsten rings—are they heavy? Women’s bodies change throughout the month, has any monthly bloating affected your ability to wear the ring(I’ve heard they have to be “dead on” in terms of sizing)

Tungsten is a little heavy for a womans ring. I think platinum is the best for a woman. You can also have the exact sizing done once you give it to her, they will never be dead on, for instance, mine fits different in the summer verses the winter.

Another thing you might want to know about tungsten is if you are wearing this ring and are ever in an accident, your finger swells. The ring can not be cut off. The same thing goes for titanium.

I have white gold myself, but I have to say I’ve never seen a woman wear the metals you mentioned. I imagine it’s because they can’t be resized, and they might be concerned that if they gain weight (from pregnancy or domestic bliss), it won’t fit anymore. But of course the same goes for guys…they seem to think those metals are “cooler”, but they won’t fit if they get chunkier.

I have a Tungsten Carbide wedding ring and I love it, but then again it is not “traditional” for women. They are made mostly for men, so they are a little wider, making it difficult to wear the band and your engagement ring on the same finger if you have short fingers like me! We skipped the engagement ring and just got the wedding bands, so it worked for me. I’m sure you can get them thinner if you look.

As far as bloating, I haven’t had a problem with taking the ring on and off. And my fingers swell up pretty bad when it’s hot outside (like right now). I actually think it’s easier to slip on and off because it’s so smooth.

Tungsten Carbide rings cannot be resized like other rings because it is so hard. Our warranty allows us to swap our rings for another size for a small fee. The only thing is that if you have something engraved on the inside, you won’t get it again on the replacement.

Here’s the one my husband and I purchased:

Yes, there are some women who wear Tungsten Carbide wedding bands. Not many women however, but there are some who want a modern contemporary metal for their wedding band.

At http://www.Titanium-Jewelry.com, we have one of the most diverse collections of contemporary metals jewelry available, and sell lot’s of tungsten carbide rings. However, about 90% of the tungsten carbide rings are for men. Most of these rings are between 7 and 9mm wide, and very heavy. Unsuitable for most ladies.

However, one ring that sells well for ladies is our PIATTO.
It is available in 4mm width and any finger size. The 4mm width is great for most ladies. Here’s a link to view, but keep in mind the picture is a 6mm width

You cannot size tungsten carbide, titanium, or stainless steel rings. But they are affordable enough where you could purchase two – one ring maybe 1/2 size larger than the other for the times when the finger is bloated.

Another option that is gaining popularity is Palladium. It is a precious metal in the platinum metal group, so it is much more expensive than tungsten carbide. But it is another option for you.

    Hope this helps! :)

We make and sell many titanium rings to women. There aren’t so many rules any more so whatever seems OK to you & your fiance is OK. If your finger size changes significantly due to temperature, you might consider a second ring because you don’t want to have to keep resizing the ring, whatever it’s made of. Titanium rings CAN be resized (we do it all the time) but tungsten rings can’t. Any emergency room can remove rings made of either material. During pregnancy, some women have to take off their wedding ring or wear a substitute due to finger swelling.
